Game wardens from Texas Parks & Wildlife are currently investigating an incident at Lake Sam Rayburn involving a boat collision with a large dirt pile.

One man was seriously injured while another sustained minor injuries. The accident occurred when the boat’s operator lost control around 3 p.m. on Friday due to a mechanical issue, resulting in both occupants being ejected from the vessel.

Lake Rayburn Fire Chief Brett Holloway confirmed that the boat came to rest between the east end of the dam and the Umphrey Family Pavilion.

The older man suffered a broken femur just above the knee and was airlifted to a hospital, while the younger man sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance for medical treatment.
